Quote with 4 notes

Location managers are often described as the eyes and ears of directors, playing a pivotal role in finding and securing the key locations that bring production shoots to life.

Next time you see David B. Lyons, give him a pat on the ass and tell him, “Good job!”

The 2011 California On-Location Awards (COLA) were handed out recently reminding me of how awesome, and unfortunately often under-recognized, location managers are.  I used to be one, on a much smaller scale, for reality TV shows.  The job is really fun and rewarding, but a lot of hard work and dedication is involved in securing the perfect location.  Hats off to all you locations managers; good job!

Dave’s co-worker John Panzarella was nominated this year for Location Professional of the Year, Studio Feature Film for his work on In Time.
